Nomusa values working collaboratively with other qualified prescribers and practitioners to enable her client’s to achieve the best treatment outcomes. She currently works as a nurse practitioner in Bendigo, where she has continued her nursing experience in community-health centres, correctional-health facilities and residential AOD detox. Nomusa values participation in ongoing professional development that increases nurse-practioner’s skills in comprehensive mental-health assessments, diagnostic testing, and dual-diagnosis treatment plans. In 2023, she received an award from Drug and Alcohol Nurses Australasia at their annual conference, in recognition of her mentoring trainee nurses. She also has a strong interest in community development for women from a Zimbabwean cultural background.
